Top of the World — Newly Remodeled, Utterly Unforgettable
Newly remodeled in 2024 and better than ever, Top of the World is a two-level log cabin masterpiece perched between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge with sweeping mountain views, two stunning river stone fireplaces, a custom stained-glass window that catches the light in every season, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes guests stop in the doorway and simply take it all in. One guest got engaged here on Christmas morning. Another called it "the best vacation we've ever had." With 101 reviews and a 4.8 rating, it's easy to see why.
The Setting: Mountain Views, Total Privacy
Tucked just outside Pigeon Forge on the scenic stretch between the city and Gatlinburg, Top of the World delivers the best of both — close enough to Dollywood (12 minutes), Anakeesta (13 minutes), and all the Pigeon Forge action you could want, yet positioned high enough and privately enough that you'd never know any of it existed. The entire west side of the cabin opens to mountain views, and the screened-in porch with hot tub lets you take it all in without leaving the comfort of your retreat.
The Upper King Suite: Pure Indulgence
The top floor is dedicated entirely to the king bedroom suite — a spacious, beautifully appointed retreat featuring a massive jacuzzi tub, river stone gas fireplace, TV, and windows overlooking the mountains. This is the kind of bedroom that makes every morning feel like a luxury hotel experience and every evening feel like a dream. The combination of the jacuzzi, the fireplace, and the mountain view from the bedroom windows is simply unmatched in the Heartland portfolio.
The Main Level: Warm, Welcoming & Full of Character
Step down to the main level and the cabin's character immediately shines. The living room features the second river stone fireplace — flanked by that gorgeous custom stained-glass window that guests consistently mention — along with a TV and a sleeper sofa for added sleeping flexibility. The fully equipped kitchen with Keurig and all the essentials keeps the whole group fed and happy, and the centerpiece of the dining room is something you truly have to see: a breathtaking table crafted from Aspen tree logs that seats 6 comfortably and feels like a piece of fine art.
The main-level queen bedroom with its own full bath and TV gives a second couple or family members comfortable private sleeping space, while two full baths with hair dryers ensure nobody is ever waiting in line.
The Screened Porch: Mountain Living at Its Finest
Off the living room, the screened-in porch is where Top of the World truly earns its name. The hot tub is ready year-round, the mountain views stretch as far as the eye can see, and the rockers on the back porch invite you to sit, breathe, and remember what actually matters. Whether you're soaking under a sky full of stars, sipping coffee in the morning mist, or watching the fall colors paint the ridgelines in October, this porch delivers the quintessential Smoky Mountain experience.
Top of the World sleeps up to 6 guests and includes free Wi-Fi, Keurig, washer/dryer, charcoal grill, and free parking. No pets. No smoking. Decorated for Christmas during the holiday season.
4-wheel drive or chains required November through March in the event of inclement weather.

Top Of The World is clean and well maintained with amenities such as hot tubs, fireplaces, and a deck. The cabin has a beautiful view and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only issue was the washer and dryer which took around an hour to fix. The cabin had a great location in the mountains and the staff were attentive and accommodating.

Absolutely beautiful cabin . Perfect location to visit all the hot spots ! We will definitely be back for another stay .

We have stayed in a Heartland cabin before. The cabins are always clean and if we had any issues, they were addressed immediately with the friendly staff. One downside to the Top of The World cabin was the washer and dryer. They are outdated and took around an hour and a half just to wash one load. The water that came out came out as a trickle which makes washing clothes longer. Other than that we had an amazing vacation!

It was a great stay. The hot tub was fixed from last years stay.
We had an issue with the Wi-Fi connection and your crew was all over it. They came out in record time and replaced the box, problem solved. Excellent job thank you.
We had a bit of an issue with furnace on the last night not keeping up. But with that being said, the temperature did get down in the low 20’s.
We are closer to senior age than not, we didn’t care for the beds being so tall. They were a little to get into. Our problem, not yours.
Thanks for the overall great time. We will be back one day.

Our cabin had a beautiful view and clean and a perfect location. Heartland Cabin Rentals makes booking so easy and we are repeat renters. We had the best vacation and that totally included our cabin!

We enjoyed our weekend there. Any issues were handles expediently.

Excellent hospitality, all the can openers were broken and we needed a scrub brush to clean dishes with but they brought that to us right upon asking!
No complaints, the hot tub on the deck runs all the time which probably waste a lot of electricity!
The only thing I would suggest is maybe provide some kind of device where we can stream online TV program such as Hulu Netflix YouTube etc. May not have to be a smart TV I don’t know. That’s the only thing that we missed.
Everything else was awesome. Loved the cabin.

Our experience was awesome!! We hated to leave but it was very memorable. I will definitely book your cabin again and definitely tell friends about it, this cabin was so clean and inviting. Keep up the good work.

Cabins were decorated nicely. Excellent location in the mountains. We had a few issues with our first cabin, nothing that Heartland could control beforehand, but once they were made aware of them, Heartland acted very professionally in taking care of them above and beyond our satisfaction. In addition, the staff was excellent and their commercial with us both before and during the trip was top notch.

Loved the cabin and Heartland Rentals is very accommodating. Would definitely book with them again.

We absolutely loved staying here. The cabin was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We enjoyed the fireplaces and the hottub was very nice and worked great. Even though it was just the two of us it’s definitely big enough for several people with the extra bedroom and living room furnishings. The kitchen had everything you needed to be able to make meals properly. There are several cabins around you but not once during our stay was it noticeable. It was very private, this place will always hold a special place in my heart as I got engaged here on Christmas morning. Would definitely stay here again
