Top of the World — Newly Remodeled, Utterly Unforgettable
Newly remodeled in 2024 and better than ever, Top of the World is a two-level log cabin masterpiece perched between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge with sweeping mountain views, two stunning river stone fireplaces, a custom stained-glass window that catches the light in every season, and the kind of craftsmanship that makes guests stop in the doorway and simply take it all in. One guest got engaged here on Christmas morning. Another called it "the best vacation we've ever had." With 101 reviews and a 4.8 rating, it's easy to see why.
The Setting: Mountain Views, Total Privacy
Tucked just outside Pigeon Forge on the scenic stretch between the city and Gatlinburg, Top of the World delivers the best of both — close enough to Dollywood (12 minutes), Anakeesta (13 minutes), and all the Pigeon Forge action you could want, yet positioned high enough and privately enough that you'd never know any of it existed. The entire west side of the cabin opens to mountain views, and the screened-in porch with hot tub lets you take it all in without leaving the comfort of your retreat.
The Upper King Suite: Pure Indulgence
The top floor is dedicated entirely to the king bedroom suite — a spacious, beautifully appointed retreat featuring a massive jacuzzi tub, river stone gas fireplace, TV, and windows overlooking the mountains. This is the kind of bedroom that makes every morning feel like a luxury hotel experience and every evening feel like a dream. The combination of the jacuzzi, the fireplace, and the mountain view from the bedroom windows is simply unmatched in the Heartland portfolio.
The Main Level: Warm, Welcoming & Full of Character
Step down to the main level and the cabin's character immediately shines. The living room features the second river stone fireplace — flanked by that gorgeous custom stained-glass window that guests consistently mention — along with a TV and a sleeper sofa for added sleeping flexibility. The fully equipped kitchen with Keurig and all the essentials keeps the whole group fed and happy, and the centerpiece of the dining room is something you truly have to see: a breathtaking table crafted from Aspen tree logs that seats 6 comfortably and feels like a piece of fine art.
The main-level queen bedroom with its own full bath and TV gives a second couple or family members comfortable private sleeping space, while two full baths with hair dryers ensure nobody is ever waiting in line.
The Screened Porch: Mountain Living at Its Finest
Off the living room, the screened-in porch is where Top of the World truly earns its name. The hot tub is ready year-round, the mountain views stretch as far as the eye can see, and the rockers on the back porch invite you to sit, breathe, and remember what actually matters. Whether you're soaking under a sky full of stars, sipping coffee in the morning mist, or watching the fall colors paint the ridgelines in October, this porch delivers the quintessential Smoky Mountain experience.
Top of the World sleeps up to 6 guests and includes free Wi-Fi, Keurig, washer/dryer, charcoal grill, and free parking. No pets. No smoking. Decorated for Christmas during the holiday season.
4-wheel drive or chains required November through March in the event of inclement weather.

Top Of The World is clean and well maintained with amenities such as hot tubs, fireplaces, and a deck. The cabin has a beautiful view and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only issue was the washer and dryer which took around an hour to fix. The cabin had a great location in the mountains and the staff were attentive and accommodating.

Didn't disappoint!!
This is our second time in this cabin and it was just as magical as the first time. The hot tub was the best way to relax after a long day of walking and shopping. The cabin is located between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg which is very convenient. We will definitely be back!!

Very good
Management went out of their way to help us on a holiday weekend when the oven malfunctioned. Also, this was a repeat stay. We stayed at the Same cabin in 2017 (last year).

I recommend!
This was a great place to stay. It was very homey with enough space for 4 adults and a pull out couch. The cabin was in the middle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg so we could easily go to either place, which has plenty of great stuff to do. The only complaint I have regarding this stay was that the porch didn’t have a table and that there wasn’t adequate cooking supplies for a lot of cooking.

I enjoyed the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies attraction most.

Great Cabin
This is our second stay with Heartland Rentals. Heartland is a great company to deal with. This is a beautiful and well kept cabin. The only thing that could be better is maybe a few more kitchen bowls and utensils. Otherwise couldn't have asked for anything else.

We had a great time.
The cabin was nice and clean. The service, as always, was topnotch. The only issue we had was with wasps coming into the screened deck - my daughter got stung. It is early in the season so probably nobody has sprayed yet.

I enjoyed the Ripley's Aquarium of the Smokies attraction most.

Breathtaking
We thought our cabin during our stay in the spring was amazing. This cabin far exceeded our expectations. Waking up to a view of the mountains was definitely a surprise, we arrived after dark so we weren't sure what view we would get. It definitely did not disappoint, very spacious and it felt like home. Looking forward to another stay at a beautiful, well kept cabin through heartland rentals spring 2018
