Sticks and Stones — The Little Cabin That Keeps Calling You Back
Some cabins are nice. Sticks and Stones is something more — it's the kind of place guests return to for their 4th stay, their 6th stay, their 30th anniversary, their 45th anniversary. One guest even said Heartland's staff saved their entire trip when another rental fell through, and Sticks and Stones made their 30th anniversary unforgettable. With 140 five-star reviews and a near-perfect 4.9 rating, this cabin has earned every one of them.
A Location That Gets It Just Right
Nestled just off the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, tucked in the peaceful wooded hills between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Sticks and Stones has mastered the art of being close to everything while feeling completely removed from it. Dollywood is 12 minutes away. Anakeesta is 13 minutes. The Island in Pigeon Forge is a quick drive down the mountain. But up here, surrounded by trees and mountain views, you'd never know any of it existed. That's the magic.
Inside: Cozy, Romantic & Made for Two
Step through the door and the cabin's warm personality immediately wraps around you. The living room is anchored by a gas fireplace that sets the perfect mood for slow mountain evenings — curl up together on the sofa, flip on a favorite movie, and let the outside world wait. The fully equipped kitchen makes breakfast and dinner easy without ever having to leave, and the half bath on the main level adds everyday convenience.
Head upstairs to the king bedroom and you'll find the cabin's most charming architectural detail — a barn loft window that opens to overlook both the living room below and the mountains beyond. It's a feature that guests notice immediately and absolutely love. A flat screen TV and full bath complete the upstairs retreat.
The Screened Hot Tub: Your Private Evening Ritual
Step outside onto the covered, screened-in deck and settle into the four-person hot tub while the mountain air swirls around you and the trees sway in the breeze. This is the moment Sticks and Stones guests talk about most — the hot tub feels genuinely private and secluded, with rocking chairs nearby for when you want to simply sit, sip something warm, and breathe it all in. After a day of hiking the national park, exploring Gatlinburg, or riding the rides at Dollywood, nothing on earth feels better.
The mountain views from the deck are gorgeous in every season — brilliant green in summer, jaw-dropping color in fall, peaceful white in winter, and full of new life in spring.

The sleeper sofa in the living room gives Sticks and Stones flexible sleeping for up to 4 guests total, making it ideal for two couples, a couple with children, or anyone who needs a little extra space without sacrificing that intimate, cozy cabin feeling. Our stay was perfect, could not of been any better; except maybe longer.
This was our first time for my husband and I to the Smokey Mountain area and Tennessee. The cabin rental we did was the best part of the trip for us. Our trip consisted of Smokey Mountains for 4 days, then went over to Johnson City to see a Cardinals game. They are the St. Louis Cardinals Rookie team and one of the things on my husband's bucket list to do! Then after that we went to Nashville to go to the Grand Ole Opry which was really nice.
I did not see any bears but my husband said he thought he saw one. The lighting on the walkway from driveway to the cabin had some lighting knocked down you need to look at. John said some of them were up but thinks maybe a bear he thought he saw went through there knocking some of the lighting down.
Would definitely return back there and that cabin would be our first choice; great views and close to all. I have told many others about this cabin already.
Thanks for a great cabin rental experience!

One word is all AWESOME
Our stay at Sticks and Stones was truly wonderful. The cabin is beautiful, the view is awesome. It was very quiet and relaxing. Leaving was hard. Everything was as advertised. We even ended up with a bear coming up on the porch as we sat outside but he ran off when I jumped up and yelled "Bear". We look forward to visiting again. Your staff is tremendous. The ladies in Pigeon Forge especially Ashley are wonderful. I also talked to Tina but didn't see her. I have met Ashley twice. Both are super on your website. Please extend my gratitude to the both of them.

Amazing stay
Stayed at Sticks N Stones. The cabin was a one bedroom. It was beautiful. Had all the cookware and a charcoal grill outside. Parking for the cabin was big for a car, motorcycle, and trailer. Views from the porch was amazing. Cabin is close to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Sets between each town. I would stay here again. I would recommend to have screens on the Windows so I could open a window at night to hear the nature without all the bugs coming in. Thank you Heartland you guys were all so helpful and friendly even on your chat line.

Relaxing and enjoyable
We have stayed in this cabin before. It is nicely decorated and we love the view and the hot tub is in an enclosed porch area. Private enough for us. We did have trouble with the refrigerator's ice maker-maintenance came and fixed it. We always have good luck with our rentals through Heartland Rentals. If there's a problem Heartland is quick to make it right. Had an enjoyable trip. The fires experienced in November 2016 did not affect downtown as we were lead to believe from news reports which we were glad to see, however we were sad to see how some businesses and homes were affected. We pray for those owners who did lose their business and/or homes.
