Call of the Wild | A One-of-a-Kind Mountain Retreat in the Smokies
There are cabins, and then there's Call of the Wild. Perched at the mountaintop on a private wooded lot between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, this authentically decorated two-bedroom log cabin is unlike anything you've stayed in before. Inspired by the beauty of the mountains and Native American artistry, every room tells a story — and every detail has been crafted with intention, right down to the locally handmade wood furniture and the rock shower etched with a hand-carved glass moose.
Step outside and breathe it in. The quiet, dead-end road invites evening strolls through the trees, where seasonal mountain views and the chance to spot local wildlife — including the occasional black bear — make every moment feel like an adventure. When the sun goes down, gather around the outdoor fire pit with its log benches and charcoal grill for an evening under the stars that you won't soon forget.
The Bear Room — the light-filled living area with soaring cathedral ceilings, gleaming hardwood floors, and a gas fireplace — sets the tone the moment you walk through the door. The fully equipped kitchen opens to a screened deck where the hot tub awaits, and an open-air deck furnished with handcrafted wooden pieces is the perfect spot to sip your morning coffee while the mountains wake up around you.
The Moose Room — the romantic master suite — is a sanctuary unto itself. A handmade king log bed anchors the space, while the in-room jacuzzi tub, electric fireplace, and a stunning walk-in rock shower with a gorgeous glass moose etching and unique stone pedestal vanity make this bathroom feel more like a spa than anything else. Guests consistently rave about it — and once you see it, you'll understand why.
Head upstairs to the loft for a game of pool, then step out onto the upper deck with seating for four and let the treetops do the talking. The Wolf Room — the second bedroom with its sloping ceiling and windows nestled high in the canopy — has its own full bath and handmade king log bed, making it a cozy retreat within a retreat.
With 125 five-star reviews and guests returning for honeymoons, anniversaries, and family getaways alike, Call of the Wild delivers the kind of Smoky Mountain experience that stays with you long after you've headed home.

Call Of The Wild is clean, comfortable, and has everything needed. The bathrooms are very modern with a shower and bathtub. The hot tub is great and the pool table is perfect for relaxing. The location is close by but not too far from other cabins. The cabin was neat and tidy with all amenities included.

Call of the Wild is a beautiful cabin on top of a mountain. It is very well decorated in a native American theme and the attention to detail in this cabin is first class. The stone showers are spectacular and truly shows the love the owners have for this property. The trip up the mountain is pretty curvy and about 3
miles up the mountain. But the little neighborhood where Call of the Wild is located is very nice and quiet. A definite good choice for your vacation rental.

We had an absolute blast as usual the call of the wild never disappoints and the attentiveness to small stuff when we needed help was amazing thank you all

The cabin was perfect! We had to check in late, but we drove up to the fire pit string lights on and the porch lights. Easy to see the driveway. When coming inside the tv’s were on, the lamps on and heat running. That was such a nice touch. The cabin was very clean and perfect for our getaway. We loved the fire pit area and hot tub on the screen porch- great additional spaces to such a beautiful cabin! Casey was very helpful with our reservations, answering questions and the late check in. We definitely recommend the Call of the Wild Cabin and Heartland Cabin Rentals. We will be back!

This cabin gets a 5!! Beautiful and clean!! I have been renting from Heartland Cabin Rentals for several years. Everyone is so nice and helpful . After 5 nights we are heading out and I have to say I do not want to leave. Comfortable beds , loved the huge rock shower. My husband always enjoys the tub. We went to Country Tonight and Memories Theater. Enjoyed them both! Always enjoy eating at Peddlers Steakhouse, Park Grill, The Alamo and for the first time we tried Forthworth Texas Kitchen. It was great. We loved it!! We went over to Cherokee and made a donation at the casino. Lol. I would love to stay in Call of the Wild again. Cabin is decorated beautifully. Will be back in a few months. Thank you Heartland Cabin Rentals!!

This is our second time using Heartland Cabin Rentals. Different cabin but same result. Excellent! The cabin was exactly what we needed for a quick getaway for my wife's birthday. I would highly suggest that if you are looking for a cabin to stay in for a retreat in the Smokies to give Heartland a call.

We love Heartland Rentals and always rent with them. We really liked Call of the Wild but it was a little closer to other cabins than we are used to with neighbors very close by. That being said, it was in a great location in between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg & the Park and overall we very much enjoyed our stay.

We have stayed at this property for the last 4 years! It is in a convenient location between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. The cabin is beautiful! The area is quiet, and we felt safe. Heartland Rentals has been wonderful to work with. For your vacation in the beautiful Smokey Mountains, I recommend using Heartland Rentals.

This cabin was beautiful. The rock showers were definitely what initially sold me. They were perfect. We enjoyed the hot tub, the pool table and loved cooking dinners. Hoping to return again soon. Thank you!
