Come and enjoy one of the most luxurious cabins in all of Gatlinburg! This rare, authentic 4-bedroom, 4-bath log cabin, which has been featured in several log home magazines and feels like your own private lodge, has just undergone a major renovation for 2026 by the new owners.
Included in the 2026 upgrade are:
Hi-Speed Starlink Internet and Free Wi-Fi
85-inch Roku Smart TV and Sony PlayStation 5 in the main living area
Brand new premium hot tub with LED lighting and 58-inch Roku Smart TV
Private fire pit area with 6 Adirondack chairs

50-inch Roku Smart TV’s with premium speakers in all 4 bedrooms

New flooring and granite countertops in all 4 bathrooms
Full supply of new cards and board games; a 6-person, portable game table; and a Karaoke machine

Lay Out of Cabin
Living Area
Upon entry to the cabin, you will immediately notice the gorgeous custom-made wagon wheel chandelier hanging in the soaring 2-story living room, and you are instantly welcomed by “Bruce” the Moose above the fireplace. Almost entirely new “rustic” leather furniture has been added to the main living area to add to the cozy charm of a mountain lodge.
Sleeping
All 4 bedrooms contain king-size beds, and living room feature sleeper sofas. The master bedroom also includes a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower.
Cooking
The spacious kitchen features two ovens, two microwaves, and two refrigerators for all of your cooking needs, as well as a Keurig coffee maker.
Game Area
The loft includes a new digital pinball machine with over 100 classic and modern pinball games, as well as both a stand-up and cocktail arcade game – loaded with literally hundreds of games, including Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Galaxian, and Street Fighter. The loft also includes a shuffleboard game, or if you prefer, head to the covered porch for foosball or a quiet game of chess or checkers.
Outdoors
After a day of fun, enjoy sitting on the swing or rocking chairs on the wrap-around covered porch, or relax in the hot tub with or without music on the portable Bluetooth sound system, or watch shows, sports, or movies on the mounted hot tub TV. As an alternative (or maybe AFTER the hot tub), start a fire in the fire pit and enjoy hot dogs or s’mores, or simply sit around the fire and trade stories with your family or friends until the early morning hours.
Location and Distance
We believe you will find the location to be perfect for your needs. Taking low-traffic roads, you can arrive at either side of Gatlinburg, the Aquarium in the heart of the downtown area, or Ober Mountain for skiing in the winter – all in fewer than 3 miles. Rocky Top Sports World is 7 Miles and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park Sugarlands Visitor Center is 3.2 miles from the cabin.
If you are heading to Pigeon Forge or Sevierville, the bypass will put you past the northern part of Gatlinburg and onto the spur. Dollywood is a mere 10.4 miles, Ripken Experience 9.4 miles, and The Island in Pigeon Forge is 9.3 miles from the cabin.
Making Memories
Experience a family vacation that will create memories of a lifetime. Your family or friends will love the Bear Hug cabin, which is perfect for any special occasion or seasonal event!
Please note that due to the mountainous terrain, a flight of steps is provided from the parking area to the entryway. Once your luggage is unloaded, settle in to the cabin and its surroundings for a peaceful retreat, or rest up and explore the national park or downtown area.
Be sure to check out the hiking trails in the cabin’s maps and hiking books, or explore the topographic map on the wall in the kitchen, along with the numerous brochures of the endless activities available in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
From November to March, due to the possibility of snow, we highly recommend 4-wheel drive vehicles or snow chains. The proximity of Ober Mountain makes the Bear Hug Cabin an ideal location if anyone in your group likes to ski, snowboard, ice skate, or snow tube.
Please note that no pets are allowed, and we have a strict no-smoking policy. The cabin sleeps a maximum of 10 people, utilizing the 4 king-size beds as well as the sleeper sofa.
Come and experience a family vacation that will create memories of a lifetime at the NEW Bear Hug cabin and lodge.

The house was perfect. We loved everything about it and will definitely book again! We did not have any issues, but the staff were wonderful the few times I did talk to them at check-in and check out. Great location! Great cabin! Great all around experience exclamation exclamation!!

The cabin was great!

Nice cabin. Kids loved it. Saw a bear trying to get into the trash on Wednesday afternoon. That was cool. The only negative I'd have is there should be some non slip strips in the shower. It gets slippery.

Everything was really nice and clean. Not the easiest place to get in and out of but over all it was a great experience. Side note, they don’t give you enough trash bags and you have to go buy your own if you run out. They don’t even keep salt and pepper in the cabin. Kind of lame!

Positive: Everything was amazing 👏
Negative: The top of the driveway..needs to be a warning sign saying pull to the right going in..the cabin made up for driveway.

Everything was amazing except the driveway..

Great cabin, good location. Could use brighter lighting inside, very dark trying to eat and play games at the dining room table. Could use bigger TVs. Decor is perfect with all the bear items. Do wish the arcade game worked for the kids.

Beautiful cabin. There is a lot of stairs.

Headline: We had a wonderful family trip and everyone including kids loved this place!
Positive: We loved the rustic log home and the woodsy mountain atmosphere. It’s also secluded enough that you don’t even see or notice other nearby homes.
Negative: There really wasn’t anything we didn’t like!

We’ve stayed with Heartland Properties several times and the cabins are always great! Bear Hug was very Spacious and not far off the main road. It was perfect for our family vacation this year! We also finally saw a Bear at our cabin, which we’ve always hoped would happen. But remember to always lock your car doors as Bear can open them! We found this out but thankfully the Bear did not cause any damage by going into one of our vehicles. We will be using Heartland again for our next Smokey Mountain Getaway and if the family can go again we will stay at Bear Hug again!
