Brand new premium hot tub with LED lighting and 58-inch Roku Smart TV

Lay Out of Cabin
Living Area
Upon entry to the cabin, you will immediately notice the gorgeous custom-made wagon wheel chandelier hanging in the soaring 2-story living room, and you are instantly welcomed by “Bruce” the Moose above the fireplace. Almost entirely new “rustic” leather furniture has been added to the main living area to add to the cozy charm of a mountain lodge.
Sleeping
All 4 bedrooms contain king-size beds, and living room feature sleeper sofas. The master bedroom also includes a Jacuzzi tub and a walk-in shower.
Cooking
The spacious kitchen features two ovens, two microwaves, and two refrigerators for all of your cooking needs, as well as a Keurig coffee maker.
Game Area
The loft includes a new digital pinball machine with over 100 classic and modern pinball games, as well as both a stand-up and cocktail arcade game – loaded with literally hundreds of games, including Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Galaga, Galaxian, and Street Fighter. The loft also includes a shuffleboard game, or if you prefer, head to the covered porch for foosball or a quiet game of chess or checkers.
Outdoors
After a day of fun, enjoy sitting on the swing or rocking chairs on the wrap-around covered porch, or relax in the hot tub with or without music on the portable Bluetooth sound system, or watch shows, sports, or movies on the mounted hot tub TV. As an alternative (or maybe AFTER the hot tub), start a fire in the fire pit and enjoy hot dogs or s’mores, or simply sit around the fire and trade stories with your family or friends until the early morning hours.
Location and Distance
We believe you will find the location to be perfect for your needs. Taking low-traffic roads, you can arrive at either side of Gatlinburg, the Aquarium in the heart of the downtown area, or Ober Mountain for skiing in the winter – all in fewer than 3 miles. Rocky Top Sports World is 7 Miles and The Great Smoky Mountains National Park Sugarlands Visitor Center is 3.2 miles from the cabin.
If you are heading to Pigeon Forge or Sevierville, the bypass will put you past the northern part of Gatlinburg and onto the spur. Dollywood is a mere 10.4 miles, Ripken Experience 9.4 miles, and The Island in Pigeon Forge is 9.3 miles from the cabin.
Making Memories
Experience a family vacation that will create memories of a lifetime. Your family or friends will love the Bear Hug cabin, which is perfect for any special occasion or seasonal event!
Please note that due to the mountainous terrain, a flight of steps is provided from the parking area to the entryway. Once your luggage is unloaded, settle in to the cabin and its surroundings for a peaceful retreat, or rest up and explore the national park or downtown area.
Be sure to check out the hiking trails in the cabin’s maps and hiking books, or explore the topographic map on the wall in the kitchen, along with the numerous brochures of the endless activities available in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
From November to March, due to the possibility of snow, we highly recommend 4-wheel drive vehicles or snow chains. The proximity of Ober Mountain makes the Bear Hug Cabin an ideal location if anyone in your group likes to ski, snowboard, ice skate, or snow tube.
Please note that no pets are allowed, and we have a strict no-smoking policy. The cabin sleeps a maximum of 10 people, utilizing the 4 king-size beds as well as the sleeper sofa.
Come and experience a family vacation that will create memories of a lifetime at the NEW Bear Hug cabin and lodge.

The cabin was beautiful, in great shape and we loved the large kitchen full of options to use. The proximity to both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was a plus and we were lucky enough to see a bear in its natural environment.

We enjoyed our stay in the cabin. The cabin was awesome and we all loved it.
The drains in the bathrooms drained slow.

The house is spacious and clean. The four bedrooms and bathrooms are perfect for a big group like ours. The house is located in a quiet woody area with green and fresh air to welcome you. The decorations adds a notch high for coziness. The house has enough utensils and glasses , but if your group likes to cook a few meals, you need to take your own spice and maybe a few extra rolls of paper towels. We enjoyed our 4 day stay in the house.

This cabin was amazing! We felt right at home from the minute we walked in. The appliances and rooms are all up to date along with comfortable beds!
The only negative I felt we had was the steep driveway but this is expected with higher up cabins.
We will be back!

Perfect Smokey Mountain Getaway for our group. We had 4 adults and 4 children under 5 and couldn’t be happier with our stay. Cabin was great exactly as advertised. Hot tub was perfect. Location was great. Far enough away you felt like you were alone in the mountains but actually only 15-20 minutes from Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. National Park is minutes away.
Informational tidbits we had AT&T Cell phones and service was minimal to non-existent. And the cabin has no WiFi (doesn’t advertise that it does). These weren’t really issues for us but if you need those things heads up. Also you are very, VERY close to nature. We had bears on our porch and at least one has learned to open car doors so make sure you lock your doors and keep food inside. I could not recommend this place enough for a family getaway.

Great place and location to downtown or to the National Park. Very clean and well stocked only drawback was no Wif, one person in my group needed to do a little work. Everything else was great would use them again.

Fabulous Family Vacation Rental!
This house was mountain perfect! Beautifully decorated and well maintained, it suited our family perfectly which included three teenagers. The Heartland office staff was very helpful when we needed to contact them. The house location was also a win. We even saw bears on two occasions. We would definitely stay here or rent from Heartland again.
Yes, I would recommend this vacation rental to a friend or family member!
I did not use the Gateway To Fun pass.

Bear Hug Didn't Disappoint
Our Bear Hug experience started with the quick and easy check in process which was all done electronically. Once we arrived, the cabin was clean, very roomy, and just as advertised. We experienced a black bears roaming around both evenings as it slowly crossed the road below us. My kids loved the experience. The location is close to Gatlinburg which made it easy to get around to experience the town. There are great views along the drive up to the cabin as well.
