Sweet Dreams — The Most Loved Cabin in the Smoky Mountains
153 reviews. 149 five-star ratings. Guests who've stayed for 20+ years running. Guests who call it their favorite cabin of all time. Guests who sit at the window videoing the bears and wild turkeys like it's the best wildlife documentary they've ever seen. There's a reason Sweet Dreams sits at the very top of Heartland's review rankings — once you stay here, it simply becomes your cabin.
The Setting: Peaceful, Private & Alive With Nature
Nestled in the wooded hills near the heart of Gatlinburg's Arts & Crafts Community, Sweet Dreams is the kind of retreat that wraps around you the moment you pull up the drive. The cabin is surrounded by trees and nature on all sides, with mountain views that change with every season and a wildlife roster that includes regular bear visits, wild turkeys, and the kind of moments guests rave about long after they've headed home. One guest described it perfectly: "Just you, the mountains, and the sounds of mother nature." Rocky Top Sports World is just 11 minutes away, Anakeesta is 16 minutes, and Dollywood is under 25 — but up here on the mountain, you'd never guess any of it.
Inside: Two Levels of Warmth & Comfort
Step through the front door into a beautifully appointed living room anchored by a gas fireplace and flat screen TV — warm, comfortable, and exactly what a mountain cabin should feel like. French doors open directly from the living room onto the covered deck, blurring the line between inside and outside in the most wonderful way. The fully equipped kitchen handles everything from quick breakfasts to full mountain dinners, and the dining area seats the whole group in comfort.
The master king bedroom is a genuine retreat — featuring a jacuzzi tub and its own French doors that open directly onto the covered deck and hot tub. Step from the jacuzzi to the hot tub without ever going inside. That's the kind of design detail that makes Sweet Dreams unforgettable.
A second king bedroom provides comfortable private sleeping for additional guests or a second couple, and a loft pool table gives everyone something to do on lazy afternoons or rainy evenings.
The Covered Deck: Where the Magic Happens
The covered deck at Sweet Dreams is the beating heart of the whole experience. The hot tub looks out over a private wooded mountain view that guests consistently describe as stunning in every season — misty mornings, golden afternoons, starlit evenings. Rocking chairs, a dining table, and the sounds of pure Smoky Mountain nature complete the picture. Whether you're sipping coffee at sunrise, grilling dinner at dusk, or soaking under the stars at midnight, this deck delivers the kind of moments that become core memories.
And the wildlife? Guests stake out the windows like it's a sport. Bears, wild turkeys, and the full cast of Smoky Mountain characters have been known to make appearances — often enough that it's practically a feature, not a surprise.
Sweet Dreams sleeps up to 6 guests and includes free Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, charcoal grill, and free parking. No pets. No smoking. Decorated for Christmas during the holiday season.
4-wheel drive or chains required November through March in the event of inclement weather.

Our family had a great stay at this clean and cozy cabin! Located in just the perfect spot with a beautiful mountain view, just far enough out to to escape from it all, but close enough to explore town, the National Park or the many local artisan shops near by. We would love to come back soon!

This trip was one to just get away and regroup. Dealing with the loss of my dad and with the anniversaries of my daughter and moms death this trip was a much needed distraction. For once since Feb. I was able to breathe and did not feel that heaviness on my chest. This cabin was wonderful and sitting out on the deck watching the sun rise and set was even better. I will definitely be back and will be renting this cabin again. The cabin was clean and suited all of our needs. This cabin is kind of off the beaten path but not that far from everything. You was able to enjoy the peacefulness that the mountains offer without listening to the hustle and bustle of the city. The staff was also a pleasure to work with and when I had a question about anything they were quick to answer it. Great job Heartland I will definitely be coming back to Sweet Dreams.

Our stay here was absolutely perfect. We will definitely be back. The staff was super kind and friendly and answered all my calls quickly. Thank You Casey and Ashley for being so helpful. The cabin was absolutely beautiful and the online pics don’t do it justice. Can’t wait to come back

It was absolutely beautiful!! The online pictures don’t do the cabin justice. The bed was very comfortable, we’ve stayed at others that weren’t, so that was a big plus! The cabin was well stocked and when I called the first day about dish towels they immediately brought us some! Great customer service the Best of any place we’ve stayed!! Ashley and Casey were so helpful. Definitely will be back. Might even bring our grandchildren next time, or not lol. 😊👍🏼

Absolutely a beautiful cabin and area. Not too far from fun stuff in gatlinburg and pigeon forge. Snowed a little bit while we were there and was even more breath takin. Will definitely stay again!

My husband and I enjoyed staying at the Sweet Dreams cabin. It was so clean, beautiful and very cozy. The hot tub was amazing on the cool nights. The next time we stay here, we will bring food & may not leave the mountains. It's nestled in the mountains but still close enough for a drive to Gatlinburg. January is a great time of year to visit because the Christmas lights are still on & it's not crowded. We will visit Sweet Dreams again!

My family of 5 wanted a get away after the last couple of years of not taking a vacation. We searched many properties and decided on Sweet Dreams. We were not disappointed!
The veiws were amazing! The property is well maintained. Everything was clean, quiet, and ready for our 5 day stay. The half bath was a surprise, but a very good one. My husband is nearly 7 feet tall and had plenty of room to walk without needing to duck constantly.
We were surprised at how clean the cabin was on arrival. We have had other vacations in different places and they were not as tidy.
We enjoyed our stay and would happily choose this cabin on our next trip down!
