Hanky Panky — The Most Uniquely Charming Couples Cabin in the Smokies
There are cabins. And then there's Hanky Panky. Tucked away on Bird's Creek Road with nothing but paved roads to your door, this one-of-a-kind couples retreat is the kind of place that surprises you the moment you arrive and keeps impressing you all weekend long. From the year-round Christmas loft to the glowing LED deck lighting to the flagstone fireplace that fills the room with warmth, every single detail here was chosen with intention — and with you in mind.
Your Welcome Moment
Pull up to the cabin and the "Southern Porch" greets you like an old friend. Rocking chairs, a dreamy bed swing, sun screen blinds, and plantation sheers set the scene for slow mornings watching the sunrise paint the mountains gold. The outdoor LED rail lighting gives the whole porch an enchanting glow after dark — pour a glass of wine, sink into the swing, and let the Smokies work their magic.
Inside: Warm, Whimsical & Wonderfully Romantic
Step through the door and soak in the atmosphere — soaring ceilings, gorgeous round log walls, and a stunning flagstone gas fireplace that anchors the room with warmth and character. This is the kind of living space that makes you want to stay in all day, and honestly, nobody would blame you.
When the mood strikes for a little fun, follow the lighted handrail staircase up to the Christmas Loft. Flip "Santa's light switch" and watch the whole space come alive with Christmas magic — any time of year. Swing away in the loft while taking in the views, challenge each other to a round on the 60-in-1 arcade game table, or simply sit back and enjoy the novelty of having your own private Christmas hideaway in the mountains. It never gets old.
The King Suite — Pure Indulgence
The king-size master suite is everything a romantic mountain escape should be. A luxurious two-person shower and a jacuzzi tub make this bathroom feel like a private spa, and the thoughtful decor throughout makes every moment feel special. Granite countertops in the fully equipped kitchen, a cozy table for two, and a Keurig ready to brew your morning coffee complete the picture.
Outside: Hot Tub, Views & Mountain Air
The rear private deck is your personal sanctuary — sink into the hot tub and let the mountain air wrap around you while the trees sway and the world goes quiet. A fire pit adds another reason to linger outside long after the sun goes down.
And when you're ready to venture out, Dollywood is just 17 minutes away, Anakeesta and downtown Gatlinburg are a quick 20-minute drive, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is right in your backyard.
Hanky Panky sleeps 2 and includes free Wi-Fi, washer/dryer, Keurig, charcoal grill, and free parking. Couples only — no children, no pets, no smoking.
4-wheel drive or chains required November through March in the event of inclement weather.
The Smokies' most charming couples cabin is waiting for you — book Hanky Panky and make some memories worth keeping.

A sweet romantic get away.
This is the first trip away from our 5 month old and the great hospitality made us feel a little closer to home.

Perfect Place!
We stumbled upon this cabin while trying to find a place at the last minute for a quick getaway. From the moment we stepped in, I knew I didn't want to stay anywhere else - EVER. It's whimsical, charming, cozy but spacious, and where other cabins are rather generic, LJ's has panache. The bathroom sink, the kitchen island, the SHOWER... it was all fantastic!
I chatted online with Heartland for the booking and then a couple of times afterward for some follow-up questions and each time, it was an easy, enjoyable, personable conversation.
I couldn't be happier. I rather hate leaving such a good review because that means more people may discover it. ;)

Great place to stay
Loved the decor. It was remote enough to feel alone, but easy drive to the Parkway.

Perfect and cozy!
This cabin is exactly what you need to get the full mountain/country vibes! It’s right in the middle of both gatlinburg and pigeon forge! so it was easy driving to each location! The hot tub was perfect to relax our bodies after walking so much! The jacuzzi tub was relaxing as well! And the spa shower was perfect as well! perfect size for both me and my bf! The massage part of it was my favorite! This location was very private and perfect! The staff made sure you had everything and if you didn’t they made it easy to communicate with them to make
sure you did!! LOVED IT! WILL FOR SURE STAY AGAIN

Super cute cabin, far enough away to feel remote but close enough to easily travel to the Parkway everyday.
Cabin was beautiful; I could sit on the porch and take in the scenery all day. Two toilets, full kitchen, super functional...my husband's only criticism was the tiny TV (which we barely used). The Gateway To Fun Pass was great! Definitely a bargain! Legacy Mountain Zip line, Five Oaks Stables and all the other activities (lumberjack feud, titanic) were great!

Relaxing Stay
We stayed here while doing day hikes in the national park. The cabin was well equipped. The furniture in the living room was great to stretch out on. The king bed was very comfortable and greatly welcome after a tiring day of wilderness hiking. The hot tub on the deck was a welcome relief to soothe our aching muscles. The fact that it was VERY PRIVATE made it even better.
The decal on the kitchen window with the wild animals looking in was a bit disturbing at first but we got used to it. WiFi would have been a welcome addition as we had to take care of some personal business while there.
