Winterfest Kickoff & Veteran’s Celebrations in the Smokies
Whether you are one of our Pigeon Forge Cabins Rentals or one of our Gatlinburg Cabins Rental guests, we encourage all visitors to take advantage of the following Fun, FREE, Family events in the Smokies this fall. Pigeon Forge & Gatlinburg light up for the holiday and salute our Veterans this November.
Pigeon Forge 2013 Winterfest kickoff will take place on November 6th. This year promises to be bigger and better than ever with the addition of the Salute to Veterans Parade. Please make plans to attend the Winterfest kick off at Patriot Park, come out and help us honor of the men and women who have served our nation through their military service.
Get out your lawn chairs and line up for a great parade, make sure to cheer for the veterans and show your support. The parade begins at 4:30 p.m. at the south end of town and will proceed north on the Parkway to Patriot Park, enjoy the festivities & the singing that are scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM. There will be a Kids' Play Area, Food Vendors, Pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus all this and some outstanding Musical Entertainment. Bring your camera so that you can take lots of photos of your experiences and share your vacation fun with all your friends and family. Make sure to view all the current & vintage military vehicles on display at Patriot Park.
On Sunday, November 11th the City of Gatlinburg & Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies will be hosting the FREE Gatlinburg Veterans Day Celebration. This event will be hosted at 11:00AM at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, event will include a Military flyover, rememberance of comrads and recognition of Veterans in attendance. Be sure to plan on attending this very touching event, where we say than you to our veterans. Veterans day is one where we celebrate our freedom, give thanks to those who have served and remember those who gave us our freedom.

November 13th 2013 is Gatlinburg‘s 24th annual Chili Cook off, each year the resident businesses of Gatlinburg gather to settle the age old question … WHO HAS THE BEST CHILI? Think I’m kidding, there are serious bragging rights that are at stake e if you like to spice things up a little and enjoy food, you will want to make plans to attend. Grab your spoon and start the sampling everything the area is famous for.
