Pigeon Forge Rod Runs are coming!
During the month September in PIgeon Forge TN, you can always count on the car shows being in town. That’s right, the Shades of the Past Rod Run and the Pigeon Forge Rod Run are coming to town. If you’ve never been to a car show, this month is the perfect time to experience two of our biggest yearly events.
The first show, this month is the Shade of the Past Rod Run and once again will be held in the parking lot of Dolly’s Splash Country. The dates for the show are September 5th and 6th. Admission is $10 with kids under 12 getting in free. This show features rods, customs and classic cars through 1972. , a huge exhibit area, and a giant swap meet. The grand prize in this year’s competition is ‘32 Ford Hi-Boy Roadstster, with second place being $10,000. Click here to visit the website.
The second show is the Pigeon Forge Rod Run from September 11th, 12th and 13. This years show will be held at the LeConte Center at Pigeon Forge, or what’s commonly known as the Pigeon Forge Convention Center. The celebrity guest will be Courtney Hansen, host of the new NBC Sports, Spike TV, and CBS Sports tv series PowerNation. The exhibit area is inside of the LeConte Center and this beautiful building helps make for a fantastic show. There will be a $10,000 Cash Giveaway, and live music at the event. These two car shows bring with them literally thousands of classic cars, rat rods, unique custom builds, and more to our small town. It’s amazing the transformation that takes place to Pigeon Forge. The streets are lined with people and folding chairs watching these beautiful cars drive on the parkway and everybody is having a great time.
If you come to town, bring your camera and don’t be in a hurry. There are alot of cars that will be here and traffic will be heavy.
