130352429241422462.jpgOh Yeah Baby, there is going to be some kind of show in them mountains this July 4th… wait just a minute, there are 2 great fireworks shows to choose from. The cities of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge both truly go all out on these events.  You won’t want to miss the show that is about to unfold.

This year marks Pigeon Forge’s 24th Annual Patriot Festival. The event and festivities will kick off at 1:00 p.m. on July 4. The Patriot Festival is FREE and open to the public. The Patriot Festival spans and afternoon and evening of great food, games, entertainment and a firework finale! Head on down to Patriot Park for all the fun

At the conclusion of day’s events and all musical performances, the evening skyline of Pigeon Forge will burst to life with our annual Pigeon Forge fireworks show. The fireworks usually start at 9:30 to 9:45 pm, so keep your eyes on the skies.

All the World Loves a Parade

If your headed to Gatlinburg and the Great Smoky Mountains for a vacation, what better time for a family visit than July 4th!  Gatlinburgs’ fame to claim is that it is the “1st July 4th Parade in the Nation”!   They do this by having the parade begin at the stroke of midnight on July 4th. This year Grand Marshall is Heath Calhoun.

“It is an honor to have Heath Calhoun as Grand Marshal on the Rocky Top Sports World float. He has represented his country from the battlefield to the ski slopes of Sochi. He is truly an American Hero and an inspiration to all who meet him and hear his story.”

Marci Claude Gatlinburg spokesperson

Later that evening… ok a lot later, Mid night to 10:00 pm is 22 hours. Join the celebration in downtown Gatlinburg to mark our nation’s “Independence Day” with a magnificent fireworks show. The City of Gatlinburg lights up the mountain skyline downtown centered on the area of traffic light #3 at 10 p.m. with their award winning Fireworks Show.

In case you are counting…2 Must do experiences in a 22:00 hour period.  That is what I call action Packed Fun.  So the real question is where do I find some rest in between events?  The answer is quite simple; you need to book a Gatlinburg Cabin NOW.  The reason being, that everyone waits till the last minute to plan their vacations.  If you plan ahead, you will be a able to choose from the premium cabins and not be stuck with what is left. The staff at Heartland Cabin Rentals is waiting to assist you with reservations
