1. Laurel Falls Trail
Laurel Falls Trail is a lovely waterfall hike that is extremely kid-friendly. This kind of trail is considered a to and back trail where you reach the waterfall and head back to the car. This is a paved trail, but there is slightly uneven pavement as well as inclined elevation, so it is not appropriate for strollers and wheelchairs. The trail is peppered with mountain laurel on the sides which is where this waterfall and trail got its name! This trail is just over 2 miles roundtrip and offers sporadic views leading up to the 80-foot two-tiered waterfall!
2. Gatlinburg Trail
The Gatlinburg Trail is a lovely nature walk nearby to town and convenient enough to enjoy on a whim. This trail takes you through the wooded area that is about 3.8 miles roundtrip from the Sugarlands Visitor Center parking area. The forested trail runs alongside the Little Pigeon River where you will see flowing water, lush foliage, and even old homesite remains. This is the only pet-friendly trail in all of Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
3. Porters Creek Trail
Porters Creek Trail is well known for its beauty during the leaf and flowering months where the trail turns into a storybook. This trail is 4 miles roundtrip and you will also see historic buildings along your way.
