SEVIERVILLE, Tenn. (WVLTAP) -- The governors of Tennessee and North Carolina worked together to get the Great Smoky Mountains National Park reopen for five days during the busy fall tourism season. Like other national parks, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park has been closed because of the partial federal government shutdown. To help mark the occasion, the Great Smoky Mountains Association and Friends of the Smokies will host a seven-mile hike Thursday morning. READ THE FULL STORY
