Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair - A MUST DO

Craft_Fall_lg.jpgVoted one of the Southeast's "Top 20 Most Popular Events", and high on everyone's list of Gatlinburg Things to Do each summer, is the Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair.  Celebrating their 40th birthday, this year the fair will be held July 17-25, 2015.

This is not your ordinary run-of-the-mill craft fair with grannie's crocheted pot holders, slippers, and tea towels! No! At the Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair arts and crafts devotees may expect to find over 180 beautifully displayed booths filled with one-of-a-kind, handmade products.  This exciting event is populated not only with local tradesmen, but craftsmen and women from all over the nation!  They lovingly display their talents and are not here just to sell their merchandise, but they are available and eager to talk with each customer; answering questions regarding not only their technique and ideas, but will also explain the "how-to's"!  And yes, there will be demonstrations of a variety and myriad of crafts going on throughout the fair, as well.

HomePage-Art3.jpgIf you are looking for something special for yourself or someone else; believe me, it's here.  Each participant is incredibly skilled and extremely talented and is subjected to a jury process to insure the uniqueness and quality of their craft – all that means is you will be surrounded by plenty of amazing pieces to choose from.  If you love handcrafted products, the Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair is a fantastic event brimming with unique items forged by incredible skill.

Of course, it wouldn't be Gatlinburg or even a fair without free, live country and bluegrass music, too!  Dennis Lee and Band, along with Tim Watson, "The Fiddle Man", will perform at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm daily throughout the well-attended event.

"If you like crafts, this is the place to be!  It's also fun to talk to the folks there."

"The best thing about it is that you have many crafts people gathered in one area instead of driving all around the Glades. While we still enjoy visiting the district, it can be a relief to experience shopping this way when the weather is less than ideal."

And that last statement certainly is a valid point – everyone is right here in one place!  No running around, getting stuck in traffic, or worrying about where to park!  The fair is held at the Gatlinburg Convention Center located at Traffic Light #8 in downtown Gatlinburg.  The Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair will be open daily from 10am – 6pm, except for Sunday, when it will close at 5pm.  Admission is $7 for adults, and children aged 12 and under are FREE!

You do not want to miss this multi-level mecca of top craft people from across the US making and demonstrating their special talents, skills, and creations! Why not take home a bit of Gatlinburg with you!
