Barbeque and Bluegrass come to Dollywood
America’s favorite family theme park has another fun spring event lined up for you: Dollywood’s Barbeque and Bluegrass is set for May 23-June 7.
Access to some of the best musicians in the biz is yours with just park admission.
Performers will include The Time Jumpers featuring Vince Gill; Riders in the Sky; The Boxcars; The Willis Clan; The Gibson Brothers; and Balsam Range.
There will also be a Barbeque Headquarters at Market Square, where you can feast on Tennessee pulled pork, ribs, chicken, a variety of sauces and dessert.
According to the band’s Web site, The Time Jumpers was established in Nashville in 1998 by “an assemblage of high-dollar studio musicians who wanted to spend some spare time drinking beer and jamming with their sonically gifted buddies.” They began performing the slowest night of the week at Station Inn bluegrass club, and word quickly spread through Nashville. Stars like Bonnie Raitt, Reba McEntire, Jimmy Buffet and Robert Plant began dropping by to perform with them.
Members are Brad Albin, upright bass; Larry Franklin, fiddle; Paul Franklin, steel guitar; Vince Gill, vocals and electric and acoustic guitar; “Ranger Doug” Green, vocals and acoustic rhythm guitar; Andy Reiss, electric guitar; Dawn Sears, vocals; Kenny Sears, vocals and fiddle; Joe Spivey, fiddle and vocals; Jeff Taylor, accordion and piano; and Billy Thomas, drums and vocals.
