Car fanatics to “circle yer wagens” in Sevierville

Every May, a group of folks congregate just outside the Smokies to celebrate what they’re passionate about – their Volkswagens.

About the Event

Enthusiasts can buy, trade or just admire all types of Volkswagens including the iconic Beetle. The two-day event features a VW show as well as a huge swap meet, riverbank camping in the show area and plenty of contests and prizes.

Also held in October, the show brings VW buffs from all over the country. It began as a small show in a Big Lots parking lot with around 15 or 20 cars – since then, it has grown every year.

The event’s sponsors are “some of the best people involved in the VW business,” according to its Web site. They include German Automotive, Fletcher, N.C; Pro-Flow Performance, Hiram, Ga; Bugstuff, West Brownsville, Pa; East Coast Sand Rails, Durham, N.C; Creative Car Craft, Manchester, Tenn; Keith’s Auto Parts, Clendenin, W.Va; Raby’s Aircooled Technology, Cleveland, Ga; Drew’s Off-road Performance, Hamilton, OH; Harper Volkswagen, Knoxville, Tenn; Jarrett Import, Spencer, Va; and Dunebuggy Warehouse, Hamilton, OH.

The show will be held rain or shine. It will offer a free car wash area with supplies and free secure truck and trailer parking inside the show area.
