Sevierville Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass
Great Event, Great BBQ, GREAT FUN!
Think you know BBQ? The Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival in Sevierville, TN, May 19-20, 2017 will be the judge of that! Literally. The BB&B Festival is high on the list of things to do in Sevierville each year because it offers FREE world-class bluegrass music, singing and cooking contests, crafts, and fun! And, oh yeah…. BBQ plates! .
Let's break this thing down:
Bloomin': It's been a hard winter everywhere this year! Spring finally is lifting her head up out of the snow and cold, and showing off her beautiful blossoms in this two day family-oriented event in historic downtown Sevierville.
Barbeque: There is definitely barbeque here to relish, savor, and enjoy! Since the festival is host to the Tennessee State Championship Competition sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbeque Society, cook teams from across the US bring their award-winning recipes not only for the competition, but for YOU! You can even be a judge yourself and put your two cents in, well, actually it costs $10, to sample the recipes and cast your vote for your favorite pulled pork as part of the KaTom People's Choice Contest crew. (Call 865-453-6411 to purchase your tickets)!
Bluegrass: What would a festival in the Great Smoky Mountains be without music? Bluegrass music, to be specific. Free music, by the way. Headliners Steep Canyon Rangers, along with the Lonesome River Band, will set your toes tapping, your hands clapping, and who knows – may get you up on your feet dancing in the aisles before it's all over! But, as they say, "There's more!" Besides the local artists that will be playing throughout each day, the Mountain Soul Vocal Competition honoring songwriter and local resident Dolly Parton will be going on! Each contestant is encouraged to pick out a song Dolly has written (over 3000 to choose from!), and sing it in their own vocal style…. won't THAT be interesting!
Festival: Festival means Fun! Crafts! Games! Entertainment! And there is all that here; truly something for everyone. Arts and Craft booths by local Appalachian artists and craftsmen abound. There is also a "Days Gone By" Kids' Zone featuring old-fashioned games of a long ago simpler time, a chance to play musical instruments, a discovery area, and a bounce house. And of course there is FOOD! Specifically BBQ, but also a bounty of other vendors ready to excite and tantalize your taste buds!
So come on by and judge for yourself how much fun attending the Bloomin' Barbeque & Bluegrass Festival is! Admission is free to the festival and so are the concerts! As always our guests at Heartland Cabin Rentals receive VIP treatment and additional incentives, like FREE Attraction Tickets.
