5 Smoky Mountain Wineries

Sure, you knew that the Smoky Mountains offered gorgeous views and plenty of fun, family-friendly attractions.

Wine on the Lawn offers laid-back summer on Fridays  June 19, July 17, and Aug. 21, 2015 – Hillside Winery, located at 229 Collier Dr. Sevierville, Tennessee – is hosting Wine on the Lawn, a free event open to the public.

Beginning at 6 p.m. each evening, festivities will include live music, games and food sold by Relay for Life volunteers.

After a busy day of adventure at Dollywood or braving the crowds at Tanger Outlet, what could be more refreshing than relaxing in your lawn chair on your blanket with a glass of wine?

Hillside Winery partners with local grape farmers to crush more than 1 million pounds of Tennessee grapes to be made into wine each year. Their selection includes Italian style and Bubby, and they offer Sweetwater Valley Cheese, a variety of cheeses from Sweetwater Valley Farm in Philadelphia, Tenn.

The winery provides family-friendly tours to educate its guests about the wine-making process.

Other wineries include:

The Rocky Top Wine Trail, which begins at Mountain Valley Vineyards, includes free tours of wine cellars and tank rooms from 12-5 p.m. every day except for Christmas Day. Guests can choose from more than 60 unique varieties of wine to sample.
