Smoky Mountain TN Attractions
There are so many attractions in the Great Smoky Mountains that to visit one per day, could literally take you several months. Not surprisingly then, there’s usually more to do here than most families could ever dream of squeezing into a weeklong vacation, much less a short weekend getaway.
We know how important planning a family vacation or romantic getaway can be, and we hope that you'll find our indoor attractions and outdoor adventures information helpful for making the most of your trip to the Smokies. Make your Heartland Cabin Rentals reservation and then get to planning some Smoky Mountain fun!
One of the town’s biggest fun-time destinations is Ober Gatlinburg. Just take the Aerial Tram to the top of Ski Mountain for winter snow skiing, snowboarding and tubing, or summer fun on the Alpine Slide, at the ice skating rink, or the Wildlife Encounter. Back in downtown Gatlinburg, check out the mountain views from the Scenic Chairlift or from the top of the Gatlinburg Space Needle.
Just for fun, you can explore mind-bending museums like Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! Museum or the Guinness World Records Museum. Check out the hot wheels at Hollywood Star Cars Museum or pay homage to the wheels on the General Lee at Cooter’s Place, a tribute to The Dukes of Hazzard.
For laughs, stop in for a hilarious live show at Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre, the oldest theater in the Smokies, and of course, no trip to Gatlinburg would be complete with a tour of Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies. Throughout the entire year, Gatlinburg offers many free local events including Gatlinburg Winterfest, Smoky Mountain Tunes & Tales, the Gatlinburg Craftsmens Fair and lots more!
Pigeon Forge Attractions
Pigeon Forge TN is home to go-karts, video arcades and souvenir shopping, but also offers show theaters featuring country, gospel and bluegrass music to magic, comedy, feats of horsemanship and lumberjack competitions. Many Pigeon Forge shows are actually dinner theaters that offer a terrific meal as varied as their entertainment.
Unique museums are part of the attraction in Pigeon Forge too. There is WonderWorks "the Upside Down House," a half-scale replica of the famous ship Titanic Museum, and the Hollywood Wax Museum featuring a King Kong you won't miss when heading down the Pigeon Forge Parkway.
There are all kinds of fun things to do for the entire family, indoors and out. Take a spin around a go-kart track, play a round or two of mini golf, or plan to spend a day at Dollywood or Dolly’s Splash Country. These world-class amusement parks are full of roller coasters, rides, slides and live shows, all adding up to a total entertainment package.
There’s a little bit of everything for everyone in Sevierville. Discover the animal attraction of Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo, visit historical Warbirds at the Tennessee Museum of Aviation, or explore the underground at Forbidden Caverns.
